Miscellaneous Applico Update #5? #6? Perchance

It's been a little less of a gap than usual, but it was important Here's the good (and primary) news: I got my computer back! And it no longer sucks at functioning!

I've also been able to recover all my past data, meaning any past work can still be used... thank god. I've been seeing if any issues arise from a few weeks of testing, just incase I end up messing up, but everything seems all good and functional!

What does that mean for Applico?

Well...

There's no promise for an immediate return to work. I'm busy. I have people I want to be with and care for and an education to handle. But as I've said, I want to do something this year. Even if just to prove I can do something like a game-series long-term. No matter how bad aforementioned game series is. Since Applico is largely contributor-based as well, I need to make sure they're also willing to support my work long-term and want to have personal part of it's creation... So it's a lot more work than it seems, surprisingly. (But I am also just lazy.)

I want to make an animation or something, so if I pull myself together, maybe I'll start work on that soon. Who knows, maybe I'll have something of substance to show by the time of the 27th! ... Nah, probably not.

Useless yap:

There are several Applico game ideas born of my brainrot from before I even finished one game. Some of them are actually, pretty good derivative works conceptually. Benny and Strawbene particularly are characters I find to have unbridled potential in works outside of the original Applico's School (which really should've branched out more if I wanted to give it identity... I'm very puritan though. I like making replicas. I want to do more than that with Applico, though.)

Maybe, just maybe, if I have the heart, Applico can give off more of an "expanded Pico" vibe than just a "vaguely-censored ripoff"? But Pico is just edgy with little other substance to it's caricatures... oops, characters, anyway... I guess that's the thing. I could probably capitalize off of the cute appearance of the cast to do some genuinely good stuff with Fruit Violence. And maybe give these guys more personality than Tom ever would've when he still made Pico games. But that's if I pull all of this off anyway. The stuff has surprising potential for what it is. I'm probably talking too much about hope and fruitjuice like that for a series publicly, though...

I'm still too tired for this.

I also care about Ryuka a lot. But that's probably because they're based on Hanzo who's my favorite goth punk and possibly Pico character in general next to Pico's trio. Sadly I don't really know what exactly I can do with them spare derivative works of School and other things that involve the Goth Fruits as a whole... </3 If Applico ever gets notable I hope figure out how to do better with my characters than me.

Preface for within this year: I may be taken and have hexes cast on me by the people I love dearly to turn me into a Persona fan. Sadly.

Anyway, I kept to that idea of scheduling art. A variety of the things I found worthy of being crossposted are coming directly towards Newgrounds now! Every few days so there's a good balance. Hopefully by the time they're all done scheduling (roughly by the end of this month at the current queue) I'll have more things to post. Only annoying thing is that I can't playlist it ahead of time... It's all stuff that I've already posted up on Twitter though (spare anything ace attorney, i keep that to a side account, but it's ok no one here cares about that game anyway), so if you're impatient, look there.

I'm making more MOTHER series stuff too as of late. You'll see that reflected once more of my scheduled stuff comes out. This is because it is the most important video game ever to me no matter what I say or do.

I've had nothing special going on otherwise... playing games and shit... drawing a bit less these days in compensation for education and that... dumb teenager stuff.

I don't know how many here actually seriously care for my work, especially when I'm so sporadic like this (random teenager tries to act professional over a game that's not even good being taken relatively OK, somehow turns out to be worse than if they acted dumb about it), but I still like writing up these updates! They're fun! I want to feel the sense of audience. Maybe one day I'll be fortunate enough to know who really cares for certain. Regardless, whoever's eyes are on me, I hope you're okay sticking with my stuff, some way or another!
